Derrick James has over 10 years experience in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and joint ventures, as well as capital market transactions and numerous cross border transactions. Derrick has advised on major corporate and financing transactions in the UK, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, South Africa, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Ukraine in a broad range of sectors, including mining, banking, property, energy, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and information technology. Prior to founding Thirty Eight Degrees, Derrick worked as a corporate lawyer at Allen & Overy in London in the firm's private equity group, and at Bowman Gilfillan in London and Johannesburg.
